The new 60,000 sf LEED Gold certified PSE Skagit Service Center provides PSE with office and support space, testing and repair shops, and a service yard with additional and storage & maintenance space. The office space is oriented east-west to maximized winter passive solar thermal gain and reduce summer solar gain. Solar thermal collectors were incorporated into the south wall shading system. The PSE project was featured in the DJC, and was awarded the top 2010 Puget Sound ASHRAE Technology Award. In 2008, the project was one of several local projects in the AIA 2008 What Makes It Green (WMIG) Tour.
